Pioneer Change Leaders Research Day

This is an application only event. See below for details of how to apply and deadline.
This exclusive event is open to just twelve pioneering individuals and offers a rare opportunity for deep dialogue, meaningful connection, and co-creation. This day is part of the next phase of the 1 Million Change Leaders by 2030 initiative, focused on advancing UN Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.
We will be co-hosting this day with Professor Mona Bafadhel, Chair of Respiratory Medicine and Director of the King’s Centre for Lung Health. Professor Bafadhel is an internationally recognised leader in respiratory medicine whose groundbreaking work in COPD and COVID-19 has transformed clinical practice globally. In 2018, she was awarded the prestigious Goulstonian Lectureship by the Royal College of Physicians, becoming only the fourth woman and the first person from an ethnic minority to receive this honour in the College’s nearly 400-year history.
What to Expect:
The day will run from 10am to 5pm and will include a series of guided discussions and interactive exercises designed to:
– Uncover the core skill sets and belief systems of pioneering change leaders
– Explore how these are developed and embodied in real-world contexts
– Identify how they can be taught and passed on to others to create a ripple effect of leadership and transformation
Why Apply:
We believe that pioneering change leadership skills are critical to the future of successful organisational transformation, including culture change, people development, climate action, technological innovation, health advancement, and social equity. These skills are not only essential for leading within organisations, but also for shaping a more inclusive, sustainable, and resilient world.
You will:
– Shape the future of change leadership by contributing your insights to help define the leadership capabilities needed for the future of organisations and the planet.
– Deepen your leadership practice through engagement with cutting-edge thinking and practical tools.
– Help others lead by collaborating in the creation of teachable skill sets and practical toolkits that will be shared with others.
– Network with fellow pioneers in an inspiring and collaborative setting.
Cost: There is no cost to attend.
Location: Bush House, King’s College London Strand Campus, 30 Aldwych, London, WC2B 4BG.
Timing: 10am – 5pm
This is more than a research day—it’s a co-creative space to influence the future of leadership and be part of a global movement for meaningful change.
Who Should Apply:
We are looking for individuals who:
– Have led or initiated something that was the first of its kind in their organisation, industry, community, or field.
– Have challenged the status quo, broken new ground, or created meaningful change whether formally recognised or not.
– Are actively engaged in shaping the future through their work, values, and leadership.
– Are committed to helping others grow and thrive through shared learning and collaboration.
– Are open to sharing their ideas and skills to develop teachable toolkits for others.
You do not need to have a formal title or public recognition to apply. Many pioneering change leaders underestimate their impact, seeing their work as “just common sense” or “what anyone would do.” If you’ve ever led something new, taken a bold step, or created change where others hesitated, we would love to hear from you.
How to Apply:
To ensure this space is truly pioneering, we ask each prospective participant to reply to this email share a few sentences about:
– Who you are and what you do.
– Why you would like to attend.
– How you are currently pioneering change in your work, community, or life.
We are committed to curating a group that reflects diversity in gender, age, ethnicity, culture, industry, background, skills, and lived experience. This opportunity is open to women, men, and non-binary individuals from all ages, all sectors and walks of life who are actively engaged in creating meaningful change and who bring unique perspectives to leadership.
If you feel this opportunity may not be right for you at this time, but know someone who would be a great fit, we encourage you to share this invitation with them. We welcome applications from individuals who are already pioneering change and ready to help shape the future of leadership.
Please email jennifer@aspirecompanies.com with your response by Friday 22nd August 2025 to be considered. With only twelve places available, we encourage you to apply promptly.
